Back Revolution Testimonials:

(Letter to Bill Kaiser, President, Kaiser Physical Fitness, developer of the Back Revolution)

As you are well aware, local decathlete Paul Terek won the USA Indoor National Heptathlon Championships last weekend in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This is Paul’s third win at this prestigious meet. He is the first athlete in US history to win this championship three times.

I write because his ability to compete at his highest level is due in part to you and your Back Revolution. Last year, before Paul began a consistent program with the Back Revolution, he had a number of injuries that limited his potential. We began training for this season last October. Paul has consistently used your machine after each practice as a way to insure he was fully recovered from that day’s work and therefore prepared for his next day’s practice.

There is no other athletic discipline in the world that requires more of you physically than does the decathlon. The fact that Paul Terek is healthy at this juncture of his training speaks very well for the Back Revolution. It should be part of every athlete’s arsenal as they prepare to be the best they can be.

Thanks so much for your help and now it’s on to the World Championships in Osaka, Japan.

Sincere Regards,

Coach Harry Marra

November 3, 2006

Just wanted to drop you a note regarding my Back Revolution which I purchased in August of 2005. I absolutely love it!!! It has been an absolute godsend to me as I have 3 disc herniations (2 are classified as severe) and make my living doing physical activity (I’m a Chiropractor).

My disc herniation at T12 stems from a motorcycle wreck in 1986. It is centrally located and so large that it cuts my spinal canal diameter in half, a condition known as Canal Stenosis. My herniation at L4 stems from years and years (and years) of squats, as I have been involved in bodybuilding for the past 28 years. It is located to the right side and is so large that it extends not only into the L4/L5 IVF (intervertebral foramen), but down into the L5/S1 IVF as well! I had several months of "foot drop" following this one in 2001.

When I decided to open a new office in 2005 and return to solo practice, my biggest concern was what I would do if my back locked up during a busy day of patient care. Thank God for the Back Revolution! I use it daily, just to get the kinks out. And, while I till receive chiropractic care, I can go for longer time between visits (2-4 weeks!) and I never have to worry about being unable to take care of my patients. If I feel like my back is starting to tighten up, 2-3 minutes on the Back Revolution and I’m back in action. Thanks again!

Sincerely,  Jon M Ketcham, D.C.

P.S. My patients love it too.
P.P.S. I’m still squatting!

(To Bill Kaiser, President, Kaiser Physical Fitness, developer of the Back Revolution)

Bill:  The BACK REVOLUTION you provided Olympian Paul Terek has done wonders for his training.  Using it daily after a hard practice has enabled him to "decompress" his spinal column and afford him the opportunity of a pain free training session the next day.  Training as hard as Paul does for the decathlon can lead to a variety of aches and pains.  The BACK REVOLUTION helps his body recover from these daily traumas.
I hope to see you at one of our practices soon and THANKS for the help.

Best Regards,  Coach Harry Marra

(To Bill Kaiser, in answer to his question, "What is core training?")

Bill:  I'm not sure what the 'experts' mean by 'core training'.  My understanding comes from yoga, Pilates and Ida Rolf.
Basically the intrinsic (core) musculature closest to the spine and the long bones of the arms and legs are emphasized in certain exercises.  The extrinsic (sleeve), more surface muscles are usually over worked in typical weight training and cardio-vascular machines.
The goal of my Renaissance Fitness Training Programs is integration of the core (intrinsic) and sleeve (extrinsic) muscular systems.
The Back Revolution is the perfect integrator of intrinsic and extrinsic musculature because inversion naturally activates the intrinsics while giving the extrinsics an opportunity to relinquish their over contracted, over controlled, over activated state.
Their 'core-training' is an imperfect approximation of the ideal.  All the more reason for them to include the Back Revolution in a comprehensive training program.

(A letter to Bill Kaiser from Richard Campion, Canadian Weightlifting Federation Technical Director 1979-1986, Member of the International Weightlifting Federation Scientific and Research Committee 1984-1988.

"My wife, Charlotte, and I have been wintering in Florida for about 20 years, the last five in Ormond Beach, home of my friend and colleague, Harvey Newton. Working out with Harvey in his home gym has always been one of the highlights of our vacation. This is where I first saw and used the Back Revolution.

In April 2006 I had a total hip replacement of my right hip, which had deteriorated due to osteoarthritis. As a result, my right leg was now 19mm longer than my left leg, causing some lower back discomfort. At home, I train in the well-equipped physical fitness center at one of Ottawa’s local universities. Using my knowledge of weight training, I started doing special lower back exercises, with some alleviation of the discomfort and pain. But the center is equipped only with a traditional back extension machine, one where the legs are fully extended. Then I remembered the Back Revolution at Harvey’s, in Ormond Beach.

Upon our arrival in Florida for our annual winter vacation at the beginning of January this year, I contacted Harvey and we arranged times to work out together. It was a pleasure to get back on the Back Revolution and do proper lower-back exercises. Harvey even has the new Pro Back Revolution model. This is a comfortable, well-designed device that permits serious inversion and lower-back training. My discomfort vanished in a few short days. I especially like the ease of entry and exit. Upon my return to Ottawa, I am going to recommend that the university fitness center purchase one."

Letter from Carla Wolowski, Sheboygan WI, April 15, 2008-

Dear Mr. Kaiser: I am writing about my recent purchase of your Back Revolution System. In early September, 2007, I awoke with terrible pain in my lower back. I could barely walk. After a trip to a chiropractor where several x-rays were taken of my spine, it was discovered that I was suffering from grade II spondylolisthesis at the S1/L5 joint in my spine. Over the course of the next several months, I visited my chiropractor three times a week, had two epidural injections and finally met with two spinal surgeons. As recommended by my doctors, I spent an hour each morning and each evening on the floor trying to exercise and strengthen my back and core muscles. Despite a lifelong aversion to medications, I was also taking a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) each day and a prescription pain medication almost every night. Though the exercises were extremely painful and difficult, I had to try. After all, I was told that if the exercise and medication did not improve my condition, the next step was surgery. I did a lot of research about the surgery that I would be having. It was going to involve a lot of pain and a long recovery. The more I learned, the more I decided that I wanted to avoid the surgery at all cost. Unfortunately, however, my condition continued to worsen. Despite my efforts, it was becoming increasingly difficult to exercise, and my pain was prohibiting me from functioning. I finally decided that surgery was inevitable. I began making arrangements with my employer for my extended leave. I also made a trip to visit my family to determine who would be available to assist me during my recovery. My father had not seen me for several months and was deeply saddened by my inability to function and my obvious pain. Over the week following my visit my father had spent a lot of time researching my condition and trying to find anything that might help me. He called me and asked if I had tried inversion. I said that I had not, but that I would look into it. After much research and reading, I decided to purchase the Back Revolution System. It seemed more sensible to me than inversion tables that supported the entire body’s weight from the ankles. I ordered the unit on Friday and received it the following Wednesday. A friend came over and assembled the unit for me, as I was unable to do it myself. When the unit was ready to go I inverted for a short time and then stood upright. I was AMAZED! For the first time in 7 months I was completely without pain, and continued to be pain free for nearly 2 hours. I phoned my father to share the news and could immediately hear the relief in his voice. I inverted the next morning and again after work. After one day with my Back Revolution, I did something I had not been able to do for more than half a year; I walked 5 miles. I have also been able to do my core strengthening exercises completely without pain while inverted. It has been only 13 short days since I received my Back Revolution System and I have only taken my NSAID twice and one dose of pain medication. I don’t know how I survived the past 7 months without it. My pain has been drastically reduced and my function has been significantly restored. My friends and co-workers are amazed at the improvement in my mobility, posture and overall disposition. Best of all, I am no longer considering surgery. Your Back Revolution has changed my life. From the bottom of my heart I thank you.
